Mindfulness for Parents Workshop
 
This two hour workshop has been developed by the Creative Child Center for the purpose of educating parents about mindfulness practices with their children. The workshop format explores practices that enhance children’s mind power and improve the everyday quality of both the parents and their children’s lives.  Strategies are taught that serve to increase children’s self-awareness, optimism, and resiliency; thus allowing them to recognize and explore their own mastery and creativity.  This workshop can be presented to parent groups through P.T.A.’s in both public and private schools, day care and early childhood learning centers, and through any organized group of parents. 

Mindfulness Education (ME)  

The Mindfulness Education (ME) program was developed by Nancy Fishcher, co-author of the book Mind Power for Children.  Is has been implemented in schools in Vancouver British Columbia and research has validated its efficacy in reducing anxiety, increasing optimism and cooperation in classrooms and decreasing depression.  This highly experiential workshop is designed to provide materials and skills to teach children both mindfulness practices and simple techniques to build skills in self-affirmation, focused attention, conflict resolution, goal setting, and positive social behaviors. Ongoing research continues to confirm the effectiveness of this program.  A detailed implementation manual is provided to all participants.

Join in this fascinating workshop and learn to trust, activate, and utilize the voice inside you that simply "knows" truths not obvious to the rational mind. We will explore the five levels of intuitive experience and discuss how knowledge can be gained about yourself, life, others, situations, and more. Instructor Carolyn Schieck, who taught in the Bellingham School District for 32 years, will inspire you to unlock the door to your intuitive powers and reclaim that incredible voice inside.
